I'm beyond excited to share the cover for the second book in the Nick Teller urban fantasy series, Deadliest Bidder, with you. I was originally planning to release the book in June, but in order to deliver the best book I can I've decided to push that back a month and release in July. My sincere apologies for this delay, but I hope you'll be happy with the end result.
And for now, here's the cover in all its glory...
Some debts can get you killed.
Nick Teller has spent his entire adult life hiding from other arcanists, living in fear of the ruthless Society of Arcanists and other rogues alike. He’s strived to build a quiet life for himself as a lecturer at King’s College London, softening the edges of his upbringing, but when the Prime of the Society calls in a debt, Nick is dragged back into that world he’s tried so hard to leave behind.
Prime Ascridorders Nick to infiltrate an exclusive auction reserved for the most dangerous rogue arcanists in the world, where the prize is worth killing for and the bidding can be lethal. Nick will need to sharpen his edges and stay two steps ahead of the competition if he’s going to get his hands on the prize.
But with the Prime’s Járngrimr bodyguard watching his every move, a game-obsessed godling running the auction, and rogues circling like sharks, it’s going to take everything Nick has just to survive.
In a world of rogues, where every face hides an agenda and every smile a knife, Nick knows that the slightest misstep could get him killed, and that often the deadliest knife is the one you don’t see coming.
Once again I have the incredibly talented James T. Egan of Bookfly Design to thank for this cover. It was something of a risk to change from Nick taking centre stage to another character you'll soon meet in book two, but I couldn't be more thrilled with how it's turned out. And James has captured the darker tone I wanted for this next chapter in Nick's journey perfectly.
If you still need to catch up on the events of Rogue Arcanist, you can pick up your copy by clicking here. And if you haven't read the prequel short story 'Bad Luck Hunting' yet, you can read that for free on my website here.
I'll be sure to let you know as soon as Deadliest Bidder is available to pre-order/buy in July. For now, happy reading and take care, everyone!
